Born In Switzerland, Alan Chaubert started playing the trumpet at 12 in his hometowns brass band and by the age of 17starting to play professionally with different local bands and classical orchestras. Also at the same time he started to studythe piano and teach music in private schools.
In 1985 he received a degree with honors in performance and teaching from the Geneva Conservatory. His love for jazz led him to go study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. During that time Alan exposed himself to a wide variety of styles from classical, church music, funk bands, blues, and jazz to salsa. He was a member for 4 years of one Boston’s Hottest R&B Bands “High Function”. Back in Switzerland he became band leader and started a long collaboration with a great Jazz, R&B singer, Yvonne Taylor, as accompanist and musical director. He produced 4 CD’s of Yvonne Taylor. He has also organized for 4 successful European Gospel tours.
During this period Alan taught at Montreux Jazz Conservatory and also played with local jazz bands and big bands (some of the guest soloist were Toots Thielemans, Fred Hersh, Phil Woods and Philip Bailey).
Alan has performed extensively in and around NYC as sidemen and with his band. Since 2002 Alan Chaubert has been developing a unique combination of playing the trumpet and the piano at the same time which creates a very distinctive sound. He worked with some fine NYC musicians to name a few: Bill Crow, Mike Richmond, Raphael Cruz, Manolo Badrena and as well as accompanist of Patsy Grant.
Anna Park has played the piano for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Music degree at Han Yang University in Seoul, Korea. Anna has also attended and graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland and Seoul, Korea. She has been performing since 1988 in places such as The House of Music Culture in Warsaw, Amati Conservatory of Music in NJ and various churches as an pianist and organist. Some of the accolades she has received include winning first prize from the F. Chopin Foundation Competition at the Manhattan School of Music and a Silver medal from New York International Piano competition of best performance romantic pieces.
Anna Park enjoys teaching piano. She teaches private piano lessons as well as our Little Beethoven Young Pianist Program. She believes the goal of piano instruction is to help students not only learn how to play, but also how to think and develop their personality through musical learning. She possesses a great understanding and compassion for her students and it is her goal to extend her knowledge and love of music to each child she teaches.
ANGELINA AHU GURAL
Flute / Voice / Piano Teacher
Angelina Ahu Gural has been playing flute for 21 years, she has taught piano, flute and singing for 15 years in Turkey and the US. She can sing in English, Italian, German, Turkish and Spanish. Angelina has been performing live all over the country.
Angelina has had the privilege of opening the door into the world of music for her students in many capacities. Previously, Angelina has held positions as an instructor of flute and piano at Inanc High School in Istanbul and worked with Yonca Evcimik – a renowned singer in Turkey – at the Yonca Evcimik Dance and Music School. Her concert appearances include, The International Istanbul Music Festival; 3 years in a row, N-fesli Quartet Concert – Haldun Taner Stage and the Ruhr Festival in Essen, Germany and a chorus member for the Istanbul Cemal Resit Rey Opera Company.
A pure love of music lies at the very heart of Angelina’s teaching philosophies. It is this love of music that compels her to create and share musical experiences with all of the students she has an opportunity to work with.
Andy O’Neill has been playing drums for over 20 years and teaching professionally for 10 years. Originally from St. Louis, MO, he moved to NJ to study Jazz Performance at William Paterson University. While at WPU, Andy had the opportunity to study with master drummers John Riley and Horacee Arnold. He also performed with Carmen Lundy, Andy Gonzalez and Bob Mintzer. Upon graduation, Andy began his freelance career performing with a wide array of artist in all musical styles. He has performed throughout the U.S. with various rock and jazz bands. Andy hopes to continue to grow in his performance and teaching abilities.
Steve Klein has been playing, performing and teaching guitar for over 30 years. He is not only a guitarist but he is a composer/arranger, recording engineer and vocalist. He has been taught under the direction of Andrew Lucibello – Director of the School of Rock and John Carridi – NBC Studio Guitarist among others. Steve has performed, composed and recorded with various signed artist such as The Rascals (60’s Rock), Steve Cohan (Avant Garde Jazz Pianist), S.O.D (80’s Thrash), The Duprees and The Temptations. His original band [Jealousy (Rock), Breath of Life (Soft Rock), The Blackouts (Garage Punk/Surf) have opened for Motley Crue, Winger, Zebra and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes to name a few. Steve has performed in and outside the country at various venues Club Med in France and Italy, Giants Stadium and Riverfront Stadium in NJ, Live On-Air radio performance on NJ 101.5FM and The Sands Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
Steve is experienced in teaching a variety of popular styles and techniques. He works closely with each student to assure there is a solid understanding of music, as well as, to meet the individual’s goals and satisfy their interests. Steve teaches classic rock, jazz, blues, and various other styles including slide techniques and open tunings. He has extensive experience with both private and classroom instruction.
Guitar / Bass Teacher
Roland has been a teacher at Shobo Music Academy for over 10 years and has been one of the most in demand guitar teacher at shobo Music. Roland is very passionate about his craft and loves to teach. He currently teaches and performs with his own project or as a sideman for other musicians.
During the 80s, he learned to play the guitar in Europe, with an emphasis on classical. After moving to the US, he learned blues and rock theory. He is quite a versatile musician, and in his playing, he covers a wide array of styles such as Pop, Blues, Rock, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Flamenco and Latin.
Stella has started playing violin at the age of seven.
After music school she studied at Yerevan State Conservatory After Komitas in Armenia.
Stella graduated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of violin performance at the Komitas State Conservatory in Armenia with Top grades.
In 2012 she won grand to Study with Scholarship in Agder Music Conservatory in Norway, in Master Program of violin Performance of Western and European Classical Music. During her study she was nominated and winner of National and International Music Competitions, Participated in International music projects and festivals in Armenia, Norway, Sweden,Denmark, Greece, Georgia, Russia, Poland, Ukraine
